It’s 2015. What Should Have Been Invented by Now?

An interesting phone poll I heard on the radio this morning. The topic was, it’s 2015, so what should have been invented by now? No surprise, most responses were for a hoverboard (Back to the Future). But there were a lot of responses, some good, some funny. I particularly liked the response of the lady who said a less painful way to have a mamogram done. And of course, someone had to say flying cars, like in The Jetsons. And there was a response for transporters/teleporters. I also liked the idea of a dryer that will fold your clothes for you. Personally, I’d like to see a replicator, like in Star Trek.

What about you? What do you think should have been invented by now?

2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,100 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 35 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

Not too bad considering my blog is only about half a year old.

My excuse? – Stream of Consciousness Saturday (excuse)

socs-badge

I admit it. I’ve been slacking a bit lately on a few things.

On my writing.

On blogging.

On working out on my Wii Fit.

I haven’t worked on my WIP book in a couple months or so now. But I have started working on a getting short story collection together. I even read through one of the stories today. So I haven’t been totally slacking on writing at all. But I’ve not been doing as much as I’d like or should be doing.

And posting on my blog has fallen a bit by the wayside as well, and for that I apologize. I’m going to do my best to fix that and try to post more often as I can.

And yeah, working out on the Wii Fit. I was doing pretty good with that for a couple months or so. But one day I got a low battery warning about the balance board, and I held off on using it for a few days until I could get some more batteries. And wouldn’t you know it. I got more batteries for it a couple weeks ago, and still have not replaced them.

My excuse for all this? Well, I could blame it on time constraints – work, dating, family responsibilities, etc. – and just having a hard time finding time. And that is part of it. But really, I don’t think there is any real excuse for it but laziness and good old procrastination.

Shame on me.

Liebster Award #3 and Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

liebster4sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award

I’ve been honored by once again being nominated for the Liebester Award, this time by Prajkata of An Armchair Perfectionist (I also had an honorable mention nomination by Some Kernels of Truth). Prajkata also nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award, for which I am also greatly honored. Thank you very much! I will do both in this post.

Liebster Award:

Rules:

  1. Post the award on your blog.
  2. Thank the blogger who presented this award and link back to their blog.
  3. Write 5 random facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 5 bloggers (they should have less than 300 followers)
  5. Answer 5 questions posted by the presenter and ask your nominees 5 questions.

5 Random Facts about me:

1. I’m right-handed but tend to do a few things like a lefty

2. I’m a proud geek.

3. I’m a Taurus.

4. My favorite color is purple.

5. I can’t swim.

The questions for me to answer:

  • A superpower you wish you had.
  • Some type of teleportation, I think. That would be neat.
  • Do you believe in ghosts? Any experiences?
  • I’ve not had any experiences, but I kind of think it would be neat. I don’t know that I believe (without having an actual experience), but I am interested in the paranormal and do enjoy watching shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.
  • Who is your most favourite person in the world?
  • Hm. It’s hard to chose. There are so many people I like. But I guess it would probably have to be my boyfriend 😀 And Johnny Depp.
  • Introduce a great plot twist in the world we live in.
  • A plot twist? Well, my writer’s creativity can come up with all sorts of plot twists. Let’s see. How about snow in summer?
  • Link up your best/favourite post from your blog.
  • Hm. Hard to say. Maybe this one or this one.

Still Here

In case you’re wondering, I haven’t gone anywhere. I know I haven’t been posting much lately, and for that I’m sorry. Things are good here, but it has been rather busy around here lately, between work, dating, and the holidays, so it’s been hard to find time to post. I hope things will turn around soon so I can start posting more. I have managed to start working on the short story collection I mentioned in my earlier post. I’ve gotten all the stories into one document and am working on reading through and tweaking them now. I’m about halfway through that. So hopefully it’ll be ready to go soon. Then I’ll try to get back to working on my WIP book. And I hope to have another segment of my untitled short story posted soon too.
