10 most commonly misused words.

#7 is one of my pet peeves. I mentally flinch every time I hear it. I can’t even stand to listen to a Toby Keith song because it’s used in it (and I love Toby Keith).

Hmm I’m not sure a couple of these are right 😛 but then I’m probably using them wrong.

Stuff – Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

socs-badge-2015

I know I haven’t been posting much on here lately except for prompts. I’ve had a lot of stuff going on lately that’s been keeping me busy: work-related stuff, family stuff, etc. And I’ve kinda gotten caught up taking care of some writing job requests from Fiverr lately, too, so that’s been taking up some of my writing time. I haven’t even gotten a chance to work on my WIP novel, either, which I’d hoped to get around to.  My boyfriend, also, has been dealing with a lot of personal stuff, so we’ve not really seen much of each other lately. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, if you will.

So, that’s some of the stuff that’s been going on that’s kept me from posting much on here. And this is also part of the Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt: http://lindaghill.com/2015/11/27/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-nov-2815/

Thanks Giving

Since it’s Thanksgiving, I thought I’d share with you all a cheesy little poem I came up with a few years ago.

——————————————————-

“Thanks Giving”

Every moment of every day
I thank God

I thank God
For giving me arms
So I can hold you close

I thank God
For giving me eyes
So I can see your sweet face

I thank God
For giving me ears
So I can hear you say, “I love you”

I thank God
For giving me lips
So I can kiss you

I thank God
For giving me a tongue
So I can speak your sweet name

I thank God
For giving me a mind
So I can only think of you

I thank God
For giving me a heart
So I can feel this way about you

I thank God
For giving us night
So we can fall asleep together

I thank God
For giving us morning
So I can awaken
To find you still sleeping next to me

But most of all
I thank God
For giving me you

———————————————————

Happy Thanksgiving!

Despite all his hoping and praying, the big surprise birthday party that Murphy had so meticulously planned turned into a huge debacle, as everything managed to go wrong from the start.

Too Much – Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

socs-badge-2015

I don’t know why, but for some reason the first thing to pop into my head when I saw this week’s SoCS prompt – to/too/two – was the song Too Much, Too Little, Too Late

I don’t when the last time I heard that song was, but it was the first thing I thought of, and I’ve had the song stuck in my head all day since. So of course, I had to go and find the song on Youtube so I could listen to it and try to get it out of my head 🙂

I hate when I get a song stuck in my head. It seems to happen a little too often sometimes, too. Thankfully it’s usually a song I like. It’s awful to have a song you don’t like stuck in your head. I’m glad that rarely happens to me. Usually, it’s a song I heard recently or, for some odd reason, a song I haven’t heard in a long time.

Cabalistic – Tuesday Use It In A Sentence #tuesdayuseitinasentence

After years of study, the disappointment among the researchers was profound when the cabalistic figures found at the archaeological site turned out to just be graffiti and have no meaning at all.
