Season of Change

Seasons come,

And seasons go.

Summer has gone

As Autumn arrives.

Days grow shorter

While the air turns cooler.

Leaves turn color

With spectacular beauty,

Showing us that change

Is nothing to fear

But is instead

Something good.

As you face change

In your life

Remember the beauty

Of the Autumn leaves

And see the good

That lies in store.

The Moon- Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

223181955_10208906950028517_5122972416121968609_n

The path you walk

May seem confusing,

Full of insecurities

And uncertainties.

You may feel

Lost on your journey,

As if wandering

In the dark of night,

Not sure of where

You should be going.

But worry not,

For the Moon will

Light your path,

Providing the clarity

And understanding

Your intuition needs

To guide your way

Through the darkness.

Use its gentle light

To walk your path,

And take your steps

Bravely towards

Your hopes and dreams.

High Hopes – Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

socs-badge-2019-2020

Today’s prompt is “hope” and I’d hoped to come up with something creative for such a good word, but I just ended up stuck with a couple of earworms instead. The songs wouldn’t leave my head, so I’m going to share these two inspirational songs (each with the same title) with you instead. If you end up with an earworm from them, I’m sorry. But it’s my hope you’ll find them inspiring.

First up is “High Hopes” from Panic! At The Disco, from the album “Pray For The Wicked”:

And second is the classic “High Hopes” by Frank Sinatra, from the movie “A Hole in the Head”:

This short musical post is part of the Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt, “hope”:

The Future – Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

socs-badge-2019-2020

Who says the future

Is predetermined

And can’t be changed?

The future is not

Carved in stone.

It is something

That is ever-changing,

And is something

You make for yourself.

Don’t be held back

By fatalist thoughts.

Dream your dreams.

Set your goals.

Reach for the stars.

Make your future

What you want.

It is yours, after all.

Welcome Spring

The sun is shining.

The air is warm.

Birds are singing.

Flowers are blooming.

The dark and cold

Of Winter

Is leaving

As the light and warmth

Of Spring

Is arriving,

Bringing with it

The promise

Of new life

And new hope.

Welcome Spring

With open arms

And embrace its

Promises to us.

Endings and Beginnings – Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS #Poem

The ending of something

Often is saddening,

Bringing with it

Feelings of loss

That we think

Will never go away.

But we are all stories,

And stories never

Truly ever end.

As one story ends

Another story begins,

Just as one door closes

And another door opens,

Revealing to us new beginnings.

Embrace the ending

And cherish the memories

It gives you while

You embrace and

Embark on

The beginning of

Your new story.

The Journey – Stream Of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

socs-badge-2019-2020

Dreams are what

Help define us.

Help give us purpose.

Help us to be

Who we want to be.

Don’t let your dreams

Fall by the wayside.

Dream your dreams.

Become who you want to be.

The road may not be easy,

And may be long,

But always remember,

The journey of a thousand miles

Begins with a single step.

So take that first step

And begin your journey.

“Everybody needs a break, everybody deserves that second chance. Bob and I had taken ours.” – James Bowen

Sad news came yesterday that Bob, the famous street cat who befriended the busker James Bowen and helped him get back on his feet and basically saved his life, died on Monday at the age of 14. James Bowen wrote a book about Bob and how the cat changed his life, and that book, “A Street Cat Named Bob”, became an instant hit and spawned 3 more books as well as a movie. Bob will be greatly missed. https://variety.com/2020/film/global/bob-the-cat-dies-dead-james-bowen-1234637774/
