“So?” asked Eliza.
“So?” Millie replied as she served her friend tea in the living room.
“So, what’s up?” Eliza said after taking a sip of tea. “Why did you suddenly asked me over like this? You sounded like there was some sort of an emergency or something when you were on the phone.”
Millie sat back in her chair and sighed. “How do I explain this. First of all, it’s nothing bad, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Well, that’s good. So what is it, then?”
“You know that old saying, ‘You reap what you sow’?”
“Yeah. So, what? Are you planning to start a garden or something?”
“Ha ha. Funny, Eliza. As tempting as growing my own vegetables sounds, I’ve never really had much of a green thumb. So no. That’s not it.”
“So what is it, then?”
“You know how much I’ve always enjoyed sewing, right? Ever since I was little and had that Sew Easy toy sewing machine, and the other toy sewing machines I got after that one broke, I’ve loved sewing things and making my own clothes and stuff.”
“Yeah, I remember. You were really good at it, too. You made clothes for me and some of our friends, too. You had quite the talent for it.”
“Well, I’ve still kept up sewing in my free time. And now someone’s taken a serious interest in my work, Eliza.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I’ve had someone offer me a position as a clothing designer for his business.”
“Oh, Millie! That’s wonderful! I’m so happy for you!”
“Thanks, Eliza.”
“But you don’t seem too happy about it, Millie.”
“Oh, I’m happy about it. I really am. I’ll get do what I really enjoy. I’m just a little overwhelmed and nervous, is all.”
“Don’t worry, Millie. Designing clothing and sewing are so easy for you, you’re a natural at it! You’ll do great!”
“Yeah. I’m sure you’re right.”
“Right! So, let’s go celebrate!”

And then they go out and get Apple Martini’s?;) I’m teasing. That’s my fav drink. Liked your post and LOVE the pic of the dog and cat at the top of your blog!! 🙂 I’m an animal lover, too.

Thanks 🙂 They were gonna go get some sort of drinks. I suppose apple martinis would work. They sure sound good 🙂 I usually just drink wine, though. Am about to go fix myself a glass of Cabernet. As for the dog and cat at the top of my blog, they’re my angels Cinnamon and Shadow.

Pic of the week (7) is my all time fav. We were on vacation and a bird kept coming to visit her. It was the cutest thing ever. The bird would actually peck on the window so we would know when it was there. Hillary would practically run circles in excitement before running to the window where the two of them would check each other out for a while. Sometimes they just stared at each other. It was very odd, really. I’m not sure what the bird wanted.

It’s a great pic 🙂 I’ve seen pics of a bird like that before, but I just can’t remember what it’s called. I bet he was wanting to play with kitty.
