As a proud owner of a black cat, I wanted to share something for Black Cat Appreciation Day to help dispel the superstitious stigmas and myths that still somehow surround them, and thought of something that also works for One-liner Wednesday:
“A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.” – Groucho Marx
Shirley still couldn’t believe her surprising run of luck over the last few days. She’d never been so lucky before. She hoped it was a sign of good things to come and not a harbinger of something worse. As she walked down the street, staring at her winning lottery ticket, she didn’t notice the ladder she walked under or the black cat that crossed her path.
