RIP Tom Petty

What a day. First, we have the tragic shooting in Las Vegas, and now we’ve lost yet another great music icon, Tom Petty. I’ve listened to his music for many years, and he is a brilliant artist, with many memorable songs to his credit, who will truly be missed.

RIP Adam West

I was saddened to hear the news yesterday that Adam West, star of TV’s Batman in the 1960s, had passed away. I remember watching the show when I was little, and though it was a bit campy and silly, it was a fun show and I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I will miss him and his portrayal of the Caped Crusader. You have moved on to another “bat-time” and “bat-channel”, Adam West, and we will hopefully be able to tune in to it one day.

RIP Roger Moore

Sad news following on the heels of the tragic explosion in Manchester. Sir Roger Moore, star of most of the James Bond movies as well as portraying Simon Templar on the show The Saint, has passed on at the age of 89,  RIP, 007. You will truly be missed.

And of course, let’s not forget his memorable and hilarious role in Cannonball Run:

RIP My Sweet Shadow

Yesterday, I had to make one of the hardest decisions a pet owner has to make. My sweet kitty, Shadow, had been sick for the last couple of months with IBD and an intestinal lymphoma and, unfortunately, the treatment did not seem to be helping him. He seemed to be growing weaker and, just in general, was not the happy kitty he’d been. So yesterday afternoon, the decision was made to help him cross over. 😦  He is now over the Rainbow Bridge with my sweet angel Cinnamon, the miniature poodle he grew up with.

I had him since he was a kitten, and he had just turned 14 years old last month.

I will miss you, my sweet, loving boy. I will miss you curling up next to me on the couch, and I will miss you climbing into my lap to reach up and lick my earlobes while kneading my shoulders. I will even miss cleaning up the presents you would occasionally catch and leave on the back porch.

My Shadow

No matter what some superstitious people may think about black cats, you were the best and sweetest kitty and I was blessed to have you. Run free and play at the Rainbow Bridge with your fur sister Cinnamon, my Shadow, and one day I will see you both again.

RIP Prince :(

Here we go again. Another music icon has been lost. I may not have been a huge fan of Prince, but I did enjoy some of his songs, and I know what a tremendous artist he was and how much of an influence on the music world he was. He will be sorely missed 😦

Merle on Faith – One-liner Wednesday #1linerWeds

“Faith is the only way we’re going to make it. None of us are smart enough to do it on our own.” – Merle Haggard

I felt the need to share something upon hearing the news that country music legend Merle Haggard passed away today. I grew up listening to his music, as my parents loved him and his music. R.I.P. Merle Haggard. You will be greatly missed, sir. 😦
