He slipped out the backdoor, hauling the bag of gold and jewels behind him. He thought he’d gotten away clean with the haul of a lifetime, but then he heard a cry go out and the city guards begin running after him. He ran, desperately looking for a place to hide. Spotting a place, he quickly ducked inside and settled in for the long haul to wait out the search.
