Alice glanced into the looking glass hung over the fireplace mantle and shivered. Ever since she’d been little, she’d occasionally catch a quick glimpse of other people in it, but no one would believe her when she’d tell them about it. Now she was grown up, and as much as she’d like to get rid of it, she just couldn’t bring herself to part with the family heirloom. Giving it another quick look, she caught a glimpse of a grinning cat in the corner of the glass, and she gasped and quickly turned away and hurried to the little bar to pour a glass of wine.
