His radio beeped and he answered it. “Carmody here.”

“We just got an anonymous tip in that there may be someone down at the harbour who’s harbouring the fugitive on a boat,” said the voice over the speaker. “I want you to go check it out.”

“Roger. I’m heading there now.”

“Be careful, Carmody. Remember, this fugitive is armed and dangerous. I’ll send backup to meet you there in ten.”

“Roger that,” Carmody said as he pulled his police cruiser out into traffic and set its red and blue lights flashing.
