As Nancy sat at the table listening to Fred tell her what happened, she watched his facial expressions closely to pick up the slightest nuances. Finally, she nodded and stood up. “That’s enough, Fred,” she announced sternly. “You can stop with your silly story. I’ve seen enough.” She opened the door and said, “Officer, you may escort him away. Oh, and let me speak to the captain.”
